Care and Maintenance Guide for Laminate Flooring

Initial Cleaning

Upon installation, your laminate flooring may have residual wax from the manufacturing or packaging process. To ensure a clean and residue-free surface:

• Use a microfiber or terry cloth hooded mop, slightly dampened with one of the following:
  • Original Windex® (blue)
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Simple Green®
• Gently wipe the surface to remove any wax residue. This is the only time wax removal will be necessary.

Routine Cleaning

Keeping your laminate floor clean is straightforward. Regular maintenance includes:

• Vacuuming or Sweeping: Use a soft brush or broom to remove dust and dirt.
• Spot Cleaning: Occasionally clean with a microfiber or terry cloth mop slightly dampened with water or an approved laminate floor cleaner.

Note: Avoid vacuums with beater bars, as these can scuff the laminate surface over time.

Essential Tips for Maintaining Your Laminate Floor

• Avoid Excess Water: Never flood the floor or allow water to pool, as excessive moisture can damage the laminate.
• Skip Soap-Based Cleaners: These can leave a dull residue on the floor.
• Steer Clear of Abrasive Tools: Do not use steel wool, scouring powders, or abrasive cleaners, as these can scratch the surface.
• No Waxing or Polishing: Laminate floors are designed to shine without additional wax, polish, sanding, or lacquer.
• Protect Against Dirt and Debris: Place doormats outside every entrance to minimize dirt, grit, oil, and other substances from being tracked onto the floor.
• Furniture Protection: Use non-staining felt or clear plastic floor protectors
